Shatarupa, meaning “one with a hundred beautiful forms,” was created by Lord Brahma as the first woman. She is the divine consort of Swayambhuva Manu, the first Manu, and together they became the progenitors of the human race. Shatarupa embodies virtue, devotion, and moral courage.


Shatarupa was created by Brahma alongside Swayambhuva Manu at the beginning of Satya Yuga. Her primary purpose was to be the companion of Manu and aid in the continuation of human life. She married Manu and bore children who would become the ancestors of all humans.

Shatarupa is renowned not only for her role as the first woman but also for her wisdom and adherence to dharma. She supported Manu in guiding humanity, preserving righteousness, and establishing social and moral codes.
